the American School Counselor Association.
Friday, November 20:
Keynote, Break-out Sessions, MSCA Awards Luncheon
Eric Sparks, Morning Keynote
Address
Eric Sparks is Past President
of the Executive Board of the American School Counselor
Association and serves as Director of School Counseling for Wake
County Public Schools.
Friday Breakout Sessions will
provide school counselors with professional development in on a
wide variety of relevant topics including accountability
strategies, crisis management, working with specific
populations, implementable programs promoting student
achievement, preventing burn-out, multicultural competency,
school counselor leadership development, implementing ASCA model
programs, and many others.
The MSCA Awards Luncheon will
recognize outstanding school counselors and programs in Maryland
who have been nominated by their peers and colleagues or
rewarded on a national level.
The Research EXTRAVAGANZA
will run throughout the conference and display the work of
school counselors who are demonstrating the effectiveness of
their programs through the publishing of results data.
Attendees will be able to see programs that are currently in
place across the state and are producing results. The sharing
of these ideas can make all of our jobs easier and make us all
more effective counselors!
